Coach Education
We recognise the need to build and maintain a high quality professional and volunteer workforce that meets the needs of our cricket community

Cricket is a great learning environment and we want more people to develop their skills and be the best they can be whether as players, coaches, umpires, scorers, groundsmen or volunteers.   In turn, we hope that those people use their skills to maximise their contribution to cricket.

We therefore place a great emphasis on our education courses, delivered by us directly or by our partners in cricket.  Our courses include:
  • UKCC coaching qualifications
  • Safeguarding and Protecting Children
  • First Aid
  • Cricket for Teachers
  • Young leaders
  • ECBACO umpire & scorer qualifications
  • IOG groundsmen’s courses

Above all, we appreciate the importance of recognising and rewarding our volunteers in cricket.  The foremost recognition scheme is the NatWest OSCA (Outstanding Service to Cricket Award).  Each year BCB selects volunteers to represent Bucks in the following categories:

  • Behind the Scenes
  • Building Partnerships
  • Leagues and Boards
  • Lifetime Achiever
  • NatWest CricketForce
  • Officiating – Umpires and Scorers
  • Young Volunteer

Each year, lucky winners are invited to a national event hosted by ECB and NatWest.  Please check our Newsletters for details of this year’s scheme and tell us who you think we should nominate.
