The Bucks Groundsmen's Association has been re-formed under the chairmanship of Adrian Saunders of Marlow CC. The principal objectives of the Association are to:

  • Encourage BGA membership by organising presentations/lectures/open days from the industry.
  • Work closely with the County Pitch Advisor to ensure best practice of the maintenance of the square and outfield of the member clubs.
  • Encourage groundsmen of the CGA to attend IOG/EWCB courses
  • Ensure the BGA is at all times a member of the IOG in order to take advantage of the special price for IOG courses to members and attract EWCB grant aid regarding the purchase of machinery for the trailer.
  • Set dates for regular meetings with its members, particularly during the close season.
  • Work closely with leagues and clubs to ensure they are always able to call on the BGA should the need arise.

The County Pitch adviser is Simon Tremlin, the head groundsman at the Getty estate of Wormsley, near Stokenchurch. Simon is available to advise BGA members on any long term problems with squares, or alternatively to provide guidance on spring and autumn preparatory work.

Membership of BGA is free to groundsmen at clubs and schools affiliated to the Bucks Cricket Board. To register for free membership, please Contact Adrian Saunders
