County Cricket
County Cricket within Bucks starts at U9 with the annual practice matches and the home and away against Surrey. From this small acorn a large oak tree grows, spreading it's branches to take into account the development of both Boys and Girls through all the age groups. The end result is that players can develop and can play for the Bucks Academy, Bucks Ladies or the Minor Counties team. Our really talented players can go on from there and recently Alex Hales has extended his contract with Nottinghamshire and Isa is playing with England ladies.
Each year clubs and schools within Bucks are asked to nominate their talented young cricketers for District and/or County squad trials. This procedure starts during August & September. During October and November District trials and held with selective nomination to County trials that follow straight on in December. Those who are successful go into the County winter programme and those not successfull if in the correct age group are invited into the winter District programme.
Throughout the summer months there are over 100 representative games ranging from U9 through U17. The Girls are playing between 5 and 10 games at each age of U13 U15 & U17.
